Originally described as “the space between two twins”, the record served as a crucial bridge between Horse Rotorvator and Love’s Secret Domain. The album hones an 'electro-erotics of sound,' blending textural instrumental pieces with notable field recordings – including a drunken brass band captured in Mexico and a Thai boxing arena recorded by Sleazy. A key moment of serendipity is found in ‘Metal In The Head’, which features a malfunctioning Fairlight sampler randomly rearranging and distorting the music. Remastered under the guidance of original member Stephen Thrower, this new edition features restored artwork, previously unseen imagery and new sleeve notes, and marks the start of a new reissue series through The Grey Area of Mute.

Tracks
1~1~The Last Rites Of Spring
1~2~Paradisiac
1~3~Thump
1~4~For Us They Will
1~5~The Broken Wheel
1~6~Boy In A Suitcase
1~7~Golden Hole
1~8~Cardinal Points
1~9~Red Slur
1~10~…Of Free Enterprise
1~11~Aqua Regalia
1~12~Metal In The Head
1~13~Either His, Or Yours
1~14~Chickenskin
1~15~Soundtrap
1~16~The First Five Minutes After Violent Death
Details
Catalogue Number: COIL3CD
Format: CD
Artist: Coil
Release Date: 30 October 2026
Genre: Alternative
Label: Mute
Distributor: Inertia Music
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0550/0964/0636/files/MusicDisplayImage_b446d0c6-87eb-4da8-8cc5-ffbcd9f6adcf.jpg?v=1792545660
