Egomessiah is the debut album by PINHEAD, whose sole member is the multiinstrumentalist, singer, and songwriter Ilja John Lappin (known as the bassist and singer of 'The Hirsch Effekt'). While the majority of the music can be classified as progressive metal, it shouldn?t come as a surprise that PINHEAD refuses to be confined to just one genre. Expect a genre-spanning rollercoaster of emotions: soft, catchy melodies, clear, angelic vocals ? to demonic screams and growls, aggressive and driving metal riffs, complemented by melancholic industrial and gothic vibes. Fans of electronic music will also find joy in this work. PINHEAD masterfully creates atmospheric and epic soundscapes, blending them with intense and relentless parts, tearing them down, only to rebuild everything in a different form. The evolution of each track is unpredictable and feels like its own movie; a race with one's own shadow in the pursuit of inner peace ? without ever feeling completely lost. Egomessiah is a journey of breaking down and reassembling, a farewell to indoctrinated thinking, a departure from an old world, and a turn towards all things new, but most importantly: towards oneself
