From Melbourne, HighSchool are the duo of Rory Trobbiani and Luke Scott who caught attention with their 2021 six track debut EP, Forever at Last (which featured fan favourites ‘New York, Paris and London’ and ‘Frosting’), showing a new band who were putting a new lens on classic lo-fi, new wave, goth and post-punk. Produced by Ben Hillier (Blur, Depeche Mode) and Finn Bellingham (RIP Magic, Sam Akpro, Sunken) and recorded between London, Lewes (East Sussex) and Melbourne, HighSchool’s self-titled debut album is a real triumph, a vivid coming-of-age soundtrack that plays on the band’s name for its core theme, fusing post-punk, slowcore and alternative revivalism into twelve deeply personal stories
